One of the elusive petrol Prados has landed on our showroom floor again, and honestly, these don't hang around. This one was listed online for barely a day before people were already walking through our doors to come see it. That's the reality of these vehicles. If you know, you know.
People will always tell you the diesel is the one to buy because it's supposedly more reliable. Personally, I think that's a conversation that leaves out the bigger picture. Compare the long-term maintenance costs of the diesel to these naturally aspirated petrol V6s, and the argument starts looking very different. These 4.0L motors are incredibly dependable when they're looked after properly, they're beautifully smooth, and the power delivery is effortless.
They just feel right. Thankfully, this one comes with a Full Toyota Service History, so that part of the equation has already been taken care of.
Then there's the mileage. For a Toyota, 140,000 km is barely run in. These things are famous or going the distance, and this one still feels like it's got decades of adventures ahead of it.
After our inspection, all we needed to do was a handful of cosmetic touch-ups and a service at Toyota. That's exactly what you want to hear when you're buying a used Prado.
We get messages all the time from people saying they regret selling their petrol Prado, and I completely understand why. These aren't cars you own for a few years before moving on.
